Petals from the Basket

Favorite Things

Showing hospitality and giving gifts that encourage others are some of my favorite ways to live out my faith. But it can get expensive if you’re not careful. Enter: Amazon’s easy shopping options!

I have the unique privilege of being an “Amazon Vine Voice.” I am able to order up to eight items per day from a wide variety of items that are available on Amazon in exchange for an honest review—and I am honest. Most of these items came to me or to my attention through this program, so some items have been/are/will be featured in my social media posts or stories. If I like them, use them, and think you’d like them too, I share them here. If I don’t like them or use them, I don’t post them! Simply hover over and click on the item’s photo below to learn more or to purchase directly from Amazon.

I love taking one of each of the three types of masks, tying a pretty bow around the set, and using it as a “thinking-of-you” or hostess gift. For under $1.00 per set, I can even keep some for myself!
These verse cards are beautiful! The verses are encouraging, easy to read, and come with 60 different varieties (4 of each card). These are easy to place in a greeting card or lunchbox and are a great value for the cost!
For under $0.20 per container, these cupcake or muffin holders make it easy to take a simple gift to a neighbor or friend. They are sturdy and secure.
My favorite elements of this notebook are 1) the quality, thick paper; 2) the fact that the plastic dividers are removable and can be inserted wherever you want them! A great notebook for long-term use.
For around $0.15 per bag, you can wrap a generous amount of items in these bags. They come in a variety of colors, so I keep these on hand to make even the simplest gift a little more lovely!
Tea and Reading make the perfect combination for a gift bag of goodies to give your tea-loving, book-loving friends! They are paper bags, but the four different designs (four of each design) are beautiful and so gracious.
The first thing that sold me on these was their delicate beauty in a “D”-ring shape (so they sit flat on the table). The close second was the fact that there are 12 in the set, allowing me to use them for larger group events! A great value!
This incredibly versatile roll of Kraft paper is something I always have on hand for wrapping gifts, providing a coloring space for children who visit, and for wrapping bouquets of flowers. At $0.01 per square foot, this roll is a definite must-have for my home!
These extra-fine-tip white paint pens pair beautifully with the roll of Kraft paper for personalizing gifts. Note that these are not liquid chalk, so they provide a more permanent (non-smudging) source for decorating cards, boards, or paper.
To get ninety cards for under $0.25 per card is amazing! When I ordered them, I was skeptical, I confess. When they arrived, I was thrilled. The card stock is a great quality, thick, but the card is just the right size for a simply-worded but sincere note of gratitude (and the color combinations are fun).
The material is theologically sound, the paper quality is good, and the devotional thoughts are practical while remaining challenging. I love the emphasis on Scripture (not opinion), and I think this can be for individual or for group use.
How fun are these? And how great it is to get four in the set for under $1.75 each? I’ve used them for bagels, donuts, and little bundt-shaped muffins. They’re easy to store, easy to clean, and a unique addition to your hospitality options!
I’m not sure what we did before we invested in an Echo Dot! We use it to set reminders and alarms, check the weather around the world, learn fun and needful facts, and turn our lights off and on while we’re away. We most frequently use it to listen to playlists we’ve created, allowing us to set a soft mood when guests are here or when we want some worship music to encourage our hearts! Worth every penny!
These jar-gripping openers actually help! And they’re cute! (For $1.00 less, you can get plain circles and squares.) I love that they take up very little space in my small kitchen so that I can keep them handy and ready to use.
Did you really think I wouldn’t order these? What a great (and great quality) gift for the readers and/or cooks in your life. At first, the cost seems high, but you’re getting three excellent, functional cutting boards, and keeping their uses separate (because they are labeled for various food groupings) is an added bonus when multiple people use them.
Life-changing. Honest. I had avoided learning about lament . . . probably because I didn’t want to go through anything that would cause me to lament. Mark Vroegop has walked the path and has earned the right to be heard. He has wonderful, biblically based truths that will open your eyes and help you to learn “the grace of lament.”
Yes, it’s an investment, but once I used this spacious, glass air fryer, I knew I truly could say that it was worth every penny! We use it almost daily (5 or 6 out of 7 days, for sure), and I love that I don’t have to get extra pans dirty, use grease or oils to fry or heat up my food, or take out multiple kitchen gadgets to cook my food. From chicken strips to “toasting” our bagels to making hard-boiled eggs, it’s worked perfectly every time. This is my second air fryer, and I’d buy this one again in a heartbeat! It’s user friendly, takes up not-too-much space on my counter (because we use it so much), and again, it’s worth the investment for the amount of time you’ll save in the kitchen!
Let’s just start with the fact that there are two of these charging blocks in this package. I’ve easily paid this much for one in the past. My absolute favorite part about this set, besides that numerous options it provides for plugging in multiple items, is that the cables themselves are six feet long! These are not only great for travel, but they can be moved easily from room to room around the house so that guests can use them wherever they are (guest room, living room, etc.). I personally think these are an incredible value.
